The following is a list of albums that have thus far defined my summer:
Coldplay, X&Y
Favorite track: 'Til Kingdom Come
This album dominated my CD player for the better part of June. I could not wait for it to be released, and Coldplay didn't let me down.
Black Eyed Peas, Monkey Business
Favorite track: Pump It
Surprisingly, this album became the soundtrack/theme album for Molly and Megan and I, the three interns at Valley Church. We cruised in Megan's convertible to it, raced across Clear Lake to it, and cleaned the basement of the church to it. You can't help but shake it when listening to this album.
John Mayer, As/Is
Favorite track: 3x5 - awesome acoustic performance of one of my favorite Mayer tunes.
Jason Mraz, Mr. A-Z
Favorite tracks: Geek in the Pink, O. Lover
I could have put this whole album as my favorite track. It is unbelievable. It hasn't been taken out of my CD player since the day I bought it. In fact, I had it pre-ordered on Amazon.com, but couldn't wait for them to ship it, so I canceled my order and went out and bought it. Good idea.
Michael Bublé, It's Time
Favorite track: Feeling Good
Michael Bublé, Michael Bublé
Favorite track: Moondance
Both albums are fantastic. Laina and I did some swing dancing to the song "Moondance" on what we would later realize was our first date.
Honorable mention:
This Day & Age, Always Leave The Ground
Mae, The Everglow
Anberlin, Never Take Friendship Personal
Various Artists, Laina's Mix #1
Wilco, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
