I predict that the cubs fans will riot when they rename wrigley, ultimately leading to sweet lou’s suspension when he cusses out an entire stadium. with lou out of commission, the teams chemistry will erode and the Cards will win the central.

i'm setting the date for the first time i say "wait 'til next year" at august 17…which is later than any year since bartman. i'm guessing from your predictions that you'll take the over?

Adam: Your theory would make sense if the Cards were any good…

Erik: Even later than last year when they won the NL Central?

mike: Atlanta Schmatlanta.

I gave up on the Cubbies early in 2007…and then watched cynically from afar as they finished first in the unimpressive NL Central. This year I’m entering with high hopes. My buddy, JP (die-hard Cubs fan) and I will be tracking the season on our quasi-sports blog. Hopefully that will keep me invested in the season at least into August….

braves lost a wild one last night – scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings, then lost in twelve, 12-11.

tommy glavine was back on the mound for us. i had forgotten how anxious the first inning feels when he’s on the mound…

jbonewald: It’s gonna be a good year…

Erik: I don’t doubt that you’ll be interested through October, if you know what I mean.

mike: Isn’t baseball great?

You mean to tell me that you think the Dbacks are going to beat out the Rockies this year?? I don’t think so…. but we will let you dream!!!

Not a bad list, but I would predict the D-Backs over the Sox. That is, if they can get past the Rockies, of course. Should be an interesting year.

Leslie: I picked the D-Backs because of their pitching rotation.

Rick: Fair enough. I’m no Nostradamus…
