I played the ‘Candidate match game’ and won

December 14, 2007

USA Today's Candidate match game has been around for a while, but I just took it for a spin and the results are below. I've been an Obama supporter all along, so this is somewhat reassuring (insofar as one can be reassured by an oversimplified online quiz). I'm just glad it didn't match me with Fred Thompson.

Why don't you take the quiz yourself and post your top three matches in the comments? I'm interested to see who others are matched with.

While I know this tests don’t always present the ultimate truth, I too am somewhat comforted by my results. My matches fall in line with my overall support of the candidates. My top match and candidate I am most strongly supporting is John Edwards followed by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Sweet. I took one of these a couple weeks ago – I think I was almost square with Kucinich, close to Obama, and pretty far from the rest of the pack. Giuliani was about as far away from my spot on the map as he could get, haha.

I suppose congratulations are in order. But, I’m beginning to wonder if I’m the token Republican “The Daily Scribe”.

Kelly: Did you accidentally answer the question about which one you think is most debonair?

Scott: Kucinich is a straight shooter to be sure… he’s just incredibly creepy.

Pistol: Ain’t nothing wrong with that.

I got Biden, Gravel, Obama. I’m leaning toward Obama, though I’m independent so it doesn’t matter unless he wins the democratic nomination.

There were several issues on which none of the answers reflect my opinion, and personality and other issues mean I would list Obama #1 rather than #3.

This test actually opened my eyes quite a bit. I originally thought that I lined up with Huckabee, but after the test I realized that I’m very very different from him. I matched Ron Paul almost point by point.
