Jury duty
I have been assigned to jury duty beginning next Monday. Although I’ve been selected several times, I couldn’t do it for various reasons. I was supposed to do it during the week of Rosebud so now I am instead signed up for next week.
My only experience in a courtroom was when I was sued by an angry old woman whom I bumped into once on an offramp. This *minor* traffic accident apparently gave her thousands of dollars of dental damage, and marital relational problems. Long story short: we won.
If I make it past the draft on Monday, I think it will be fun to be on a jury.

There was no comment thing under the movie post, so im putting it here. You need to see “An Inconvenient Truth” and do a post about it. Getting the word out to people who see this site will be a step in the right direction. I love you.
Haha! I remember that crazy old lady! good times….well have fun! :)
Only time I ever got called, I drove across the county to the courthouse, and sat for an hour before the county attorney came out and told us that all of the defendants for that day came in, saw actual jurors sitting in the hall, and decided to take a plea deal (or settle, in the case of civil cases).
Have fun with that.
I love the new header.
it’s obvious that you live in iowa… but that is a great picture for your heading.
Farmer 1: “Did you plant any JAKEBOUMA.COM this year?”
Farmer 2: “Sure did! If you look off into the distance, you can even see it growing on the horizon!”
Farmer 1: “Well sure enough, looky there!”
great banner. i especially love the bug smears on the windshield. dang, i must have two dozen of those shots. beautiful drives out in south dakota, better still with a good ol’ game of “who’s in the pan?”
i miss you already.
You should talk to Deb Fonkert; she just got done with jury duty on a murder trial! Freaky! How’s your summer going, friend?
