A deluge of new music

I have posted several times recently about new and future music releases, and the more I think about it, the more I get excited. The following is a list of bands that are working on or have finished a new album and the respective names and release dates if available.

1. David Crowder Band, B Collision: The Eschatology of Bluegrass1, due out June 27
2. John Mayer, Continuum, due out September 12
3. Matt Wertz, Everything In Between, due out around September. “The Way I Feel” is available on iTunes.
4. Gavin DeGraw, unknown, due out late 2006/early 2007.
5. Maroon 5, unknown, due out late 2006/early 2007.
6. Dave Matthews Band, unknown, due out late 2006/early 2007.
7. Bebo Norman, Between the Dreaming and the Coming True, due out September 19
8. Radiant*, We Hope You Win, unknown. Apparently the album has completely finished since late last year, but for some reason they can’t release it yet.
9. Damien Rice, unknown, unknown

Bands I haven’t looked into yet but have a gut feeling about: Jars of Clay, Marc Broussard, Stephen Speaks, Ten Shekel Shirt, Wilco, Gabe Dixon Band

Feel free to comment to add to the list, or if you have any more information regarding the ones I have posted. It’s going to be a good 2nd half of the year.

  1. A seven track B-sides album, with a couple of tracks featuring Shane & Shane. Check it out at Amazon.

Shawn Kennedy with info from the boyband underground:

Justin Timberlake, former “front-man” of boyband N’SYNC, plans to release his second solo album, Future-Sex/LoveSounds, on September 12th. Look out for his first single, “SexyBack”, to hit your local top 40 radio stations in July!

The Format’s new cd “Dog Problems” is out July 11th! Partaayyyy.

BMG just sent me my monthly selection email, and it was for a new Wilco cd, “Live in Chicago”, though I don’t know if you qualify a live album as new music.

i know i’m a bit late…since it came out two days ago…but i would certainly hope you’re aware of the fact that dashboard just came out with the album ‘dusk and summer’. i have yet to purchase it because of lack of money, but i’ve heard all the songs and i am a fan so far. and he’s coming to omaha late july…remember meeting him in st. paul?

just wondering if you’re making plans to attend any Mayer shows this fall?
let me know!

How could you forget the August 25th release of Paris Hilton’s debut, “Paris Hilton”? I’ll be camping out at my local best buy the night before. Care to join me?

For real though, if you don’t want to wait to check out something good, go pick up Regina Spektor’s cd Begin to Hope. Came out in June but i just got around to picking it up (or, got enough cash), and its amazing. “Fidelity” is the song that seems to stick out to most people, but I’d rate “Edit” or “Sampson” as my favorites.

You can check out some clips on Amazon.
