Blast from the past
March 3rd, 2006 | In keeping with posting about things from my past, here are some pictures from way too long ago that I recently came upon.

That’s me at about age five. My shirt says “It’s better in the Bahamas,” and it’s a souvenir my parents brought back from their vacation to the Bahamas. I’ll bet you can buy the exact shirt or something very similar at one of those trendy t-shirt stores. Apparently the person taking the picture was falling down at the time.

I am very excited about Christmas. And sweatsuits. I am guessing this is age seven or eight. Interesting fact: I had the chair in the left part of the picture in my freshman dorm room. Late that year it literally fell apart, but it logged an admirable amount of years of reclining pleasure.

It is obvious in this picture that a few years later I would listen to boy bands. I am holding my cat, Pepper, and wearing a little league sweatshirt. Probably twelve years old. Before puberty, my hair was blonde and straight, and I loved it when it was that long because I could jerk my head to the side to “get the hair out of my eyes”. And that was cool.

You did the head jerk thing?!!!! I HATED the head jerk thing!!! (I always had a buzz.) This one kid in middle school did it ALL the time, and it always drove me nuts, until one day i said something to him and he cried and said he had a nervous twitch or something. True story.
What would make the head jerk haircut complete would be a super long rat tail. No one would have been able to stop you.
hmmm…i think you DID have a rat tail at one point, am I correct? so, you’re right, kelly– that would make him unstoppable. ooo, head jerk + rat tail= SUPER…uh…cool (?) ;)
but none of these pictures beat the one of you and joe in the chair…it is my favorite.

Once upon a time I had hair in my face, but I couldn’t swish it to the side. My hair grew like a mushroom. Up and out – if I had curly hair, I could grow one of the most amazing fros you’ve ever seen. Instead, I was stuck with the straight-hair-fro, similar to that of a football helmet.
Yeah, you had a rat tail, a bowl cut, really long hair (for about 5 minutes), and two weeks before your senior pictures you decided to buzz your hair. I was so mad I couldn’t speak. You remember what you said? “It will grow back by then”…………. that space was for my motherly sigh. Both you and SKip buzzed your hair right before senior pics – what was that about? But the pictures you posted are great at capturing the mischievious grin you still seem to sport
another interesting fact…in the same picture with the chair you had in your freshman year dorm room you will also notice a green floral loveseat on the right hand side. well, i had that loveseat in my freshman dormroom and in the throes of a wicked bender, i pissed all over it. much to the dismay of my roommate whom, i’m told, barely managed to escape my erratic spray. fun!
